Chef Will Birge

An Omaha native, Will attended Metro Culinary Institute with a passion for food and transforming ingredients since childhood.

Over the years he worked his way up in the kitchen working at multiple restaurants in the Old Market, embracing the farm to table movement sourcing directly from local farmers, growing our local food ecosystem, and supporting what’s grown in the natural land.

He quickly became known for his creative spins on classic comfort foods featuring bold flavors and sauces inspired from seasonal ingredients.

He started Mealbox in 2018 with the mission to deliver restaurant-quality, locally-sourced, seasonally-inspired meals to the Omaha community perfect for busy individuals and families and for people who appreciate quality food but may not like to cook.

Over the course of time, he transformed Mealbox into Omaha’s premier gourmet meal delivery service and catering service through consistency, creativity, convenience, and quality.

Meet The Birge Family

MEALBOX is family owned and operated by The Birge Family. While Will is making magic in the kitchen, Rachel oversees the business operations. Rachel has her B.S. in Accounting and M.B.A. both from the University of Nebraska Omaha. When Will and Rachel are not working, they keep plenty busy with their daughters and 2 Great Pyrenees pups.
